A Quick Stop Over In The Lion City
Our quick stop in Singapore focused on its vibrant food scene. Staying in Chinatown, we indulged in Yum Cha, Pork Buns, and Peking Duck. After two days of delicious meals, an unexpected flight change sent us to Chiang Rai, Thailand, where our adventure continued.
Singapore Stories: A Quick Stop Over In The Lion City
Singapore: Our destination of Singapore was just a quick pit stop on our way to Thailand…and a chance to eat some Yum Cha! We stayed in China town on Temple street at the Temple Street Inn. The hotel is fine for the money, it is clean and newly renovated in a great location and the rooms are comfortable although very small. (One had to go sideways to get between the TV and bed)
While not being huge fans of Singapore as a city, we were excited to get there for the food. With a large mix of cultures all contributing to the culinary scene Singapore has some delicious food Pork Buns, Yum Cha and Northern Chinese were on the top of our list.
The China Town Eat Street is a wonderful mix of street vendors and restaurants where you can chose to collect freshly made delicious meals from the street stalls or dine on Peking duck or chilli soft shell crab in one of the restaurants lining this vibrant street. We even found a Vietnamese restaurant and had a wonderful bowl of Pho Bo.
After two days of eating our way through China town we headed off to the airport to fly to Chiang Mai to discover that AirAsia had cancelled our flight and had forgotten to tell us! Without batting an eyelid the Air Asia guy got us on a flight to Bangkok and then one to Chiang Rai – and as Chiang Rai was our destination it all worked out pretty well.
Next Stop Chiang Rai Northern Thailand.
