Victorian Goldfields

Victorian Goldfields
The Victorian Gold rush was between 1851 to around 1870, with large amounts of gold being found and making Victoria a very wealthy state. Now you can visit the Victorian Goldfields in central Victoria with the main cities being Ballarat & Bendigo and the smaller towns including Daylesford, Castlemaine and Maryborough.
In Ballarat you will find Soverign Hill, a recreation of a 1850’s gold town and in Bendigo you can visit an old mine.
This area can be done in a day trip from Melbourne however to experience it fully it is better to saty in the area for a few days.
Ned Kelly Country

Ned Kelly Country
Ned Kelly was an Australian bushranger and is famous in Aussie folklore. He famously wore a suit of bulletproof armour during his final shootout with the police. Ned Kelly roamed in the northeastern area including Glenrowan, Euroa, and Beechworth where a museum is found. Beechworth is a lovely town and well worth a visit if driving to/from Sydney in New South Wales.
The Grampians National Park

The Grampians National Park, or just The Grampians, is a lovely National Park 260 km west of Melbourne with great camping and hiking. It is a great place to visit if travelling by road to South Australia.
