Bagni di Lucca Italy Travel Guide

Bagni di Lucca Italy is a pretty town in the valley Lima on the Lima river in northern Tuscany Italy about 40 km from Lucca. Made up of three villages la Villa, Fornoli and Ponte a Serraglio, Bagni di Lucca services a myriad of small mountain villages and hamlets.

Bagni di Lucca Italy has been known for its thermal springs since Etruscan and Roman times reaching it’s peak in popularity in the 19th century.

We stayed in the hamlet of Guzzano, which is the closest to Bagni di Lucca 4 km up a winding mountain road. The tiny hamlet sits on ridge and has stunning views across the valley to a similar town perched on another ridge.

We shopped locally and cooked delicious dishes in the lovely kitchen of the house we rented, one of the many reasons renting a house for a while is a great idea.

We had a lovely week and it is a great place to hang out for a week and re-charge the batteries.
